Tucked away on a residential street off the bustling Brompton Road, The Egerton House Hotel is the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon. Knightsbridge has a reputation for hosting some of the world’s most luxurious and exclusive places to work and play, and the afternoon tea experience at this boutique hotel did not leave us disappointed.
Afternoon tea is one of our favourite activities. Who doesn’t love the quintessentially British activity of drinking tea and eating cake?! We have been to many famous afternoon tea destinations across London and can safely say that regardless of whether you favour your finger sandwiches or your scones, your tastebuds are in for a treat at The Egerton House Hotel.
The hotel recognises that your pet is a VIP (Very Important Pet) - it was incredibly refreshing to see that the waitresses were making the experience about the dogs. Daisy absolutely loved running around the room whilst the waitress played with her, her tail would not stop wagging! There was a choice for dogs to have Pawsecco or Doggy Beer with their three-tier afternoon tea and any allergies (both human and dog) were carefully catered for. The meatloaf was wolfed down by the dogs in a heartbeat and likewise for us humans with our freshly baked scones!
Both the decor and the food were incredibly elegant without being overly grand and the whole experience felt very intimate and friendly. The service was some of the best we have ever received and the setting provided a relaxing atmosphere. Both the dogs and dog owners enjoyed this afternoon tea so much that, despite still feeling full from the unlimited quantities, we are going to indulge again in a few weeks’ time!
